The short version

Collision repair, next door to Colton

Collision repair for Colton drivers at Round 2 Refinish is body repair, with or without an insurance claim, at a shop 2.7 miles from Colton City Hall by surface streets, close enough that, if the car passes the drive-or-tow checklist below, it can come across town on surface streets instead of onto the I-10. We take the damaged area apart, photograph what's hiding behind it for your adjuster, repair and refinish it, and blend the color into the panels next to it.

  • 2.7 miles from Colton City Hall, no freeway on the way
  • You choose the shop, whoever's insurer is paying
  • We work with every insurance company
  • Photo updates while the car is with us

The drive over

Across town, not onto the 10

Leave Colton City Hall on E C St for 0.4 miles, take Fairway Dr for 0.8, then S Auto Plaza Dr for 0.8. Auto Plaza Dr brings you to Orange Show Rd, then S E St and W Orange Show Ln. That's 2.7 miles, about 7 minutes with no traffic, and you never merge onto a freeway.

That matters after a crash. A bumper cover that's lost a few clips or a cracked headlight lens can feel fine at 30 and not at 65. On surface streets you can pull over the moment something sounds wrong. If the steering wheel sits off-center since the crash, that's a tow, not a drive.

Drive it only if all of this is true. Otherwise, have it towed:

  • Headlights, taillights and turn signals all work
  • Nothing touches or rubs a tire when you turn the wheel
  • No fluid is dripping under the car
  • The airbags did not go off
  • The hood closes and stays latched

If in doubt, have it towed and send photos first.

Avoiding the Mt. Vernon / I-10 work zone

Per SBCTA, September 2026, construction on the I-10 Mount Vernon Avenue project began in May 2026, with weekday work by day and by night and intermittent lane closures on N Mt. Vernon Ave between E Valley Blvd and the eastbound I-10 off-ramp. The E C St, Fairway Dr and Auto Plaza Dr route doesn't use that stretch.

South of Colton

Coming from Grand Terrace

From Grand Terrace City Hall on Barton Rd it's 4.3 miles: Barton Rd for 0.4, Mt. Vernon Ave for 1.0, then the I-215 north to exit 41, Orange Show Rd / Auto Plaza Dr. Unlike the Colton route, about two of those miles are freeway, so hold the checklist above to a stricter standard. Loose trim that stays put on Barton Rd may not stay put on the I-215.

If you live closer to the freeway, the Barton Rd interchange is the other way onto the 215. SBCTA rebuilt it with a longer, taller bridge, a widened Barton Rd and a roundabout west of the bridge, finished in 2021.

Your rights

Towed somewhere else? You can still choose

After a crash in Colton, the tow truck may take the car to a storage yard. That's where the car is parked, not a decision about who repairs it. California law (Insurance Code §758.5) says an insurance company cannot require you to use a specific body shop, and once you've picked one, it can't push you to switch. This applies whether it's your insurer or the other driver's.

So call your adjuster, say the car is going to Round 2 Refinish, and ask to have it moved. Storage yards can charge by the day, so ask what your policy pays for towing and storage. Then text us the claim number.

Your deductible is set by your policy, and you pay it to the shop at pickup. If your policy includes rental reimbursement, it pays a daily amount up to a set number of days. Check your policy or ask your agent.

From Colton to our door

How it goes when you're coming from Colton

  1. Photos from wherever the car is

Your driveway, a Colton parking lot, the tow yard. Text all four corners, close-ups of the damage and your claim number. We answer with a preliminary estimate.

  2. One call to your adjuster

Tell your insurer the car is going to Round 2 Refinish. We send our estimate to the adjuster and handle the back-and-forth from that point.

  3. The 2.7-mile drop-off

If the checklist says drive, take C St, Fairway and Auto Plaza and pull up to the roll-up doors. If it says tow, we're the address you give the driver.

  4. Updates on your phone

Photos as it comes apart and goes through the booth. If we find more damage once the car is apart, we write a supplement with photos and get approval — from your insurer and from you — before that work is done.

  5. Pickup, then the same short drive home

We walk the car with you in daylight.

Straight answers

Questions from Colton and Grand Terrace

My car was towed to a yard after the accident. Can I have it moved to your shop?

Yes. You choose the shop, not your insurer, and a tow yard is only where the car is parked. Tell your adjuster the car is going to Round 2 Refinish, and ask what your policy pays for towing and storage, since yards can charge by the day.

Is it OK to drive my damaged car over from Colton?

If the lights work, nothing rubs a tire and nothing leaks, the 2.7-mile route on E C St, Fairway Dr and Auto Plaza Dr keeps you off the freeway the whole way. If in doubt, have it towed and send photos first.

Does the Mt. Vernon Avenue construction affect getting to you?

Per SBCTA (September 2026), the intermittent lane closures are on N Mt. Vernon Ave between E Valley Blvd and the eastbound I-10 off-ramp, with some night work. The route from central Colton via E C St, Fairway Dr and Auto Plaza Dr doesn't use that stretch.

I'm in Grand Terrace. Which way do I come?

Barton Rd to Mt. Vernon Ave, then the I-215 north to exit 41, Orange Show Rd, about 4.3 miles from City Hall.

Can I get an estimate without bringing the car in?

Yes. Send the damage, all four corners and your claim number: text us photos for a preliminary estimate. The full estimate comes after teardown.
