What we do with what you tell us

We collect what we need to write you an estimate and fix your car. We do not sell it, and your mobile number is never shared with anyone else.

The short version

We collect what we need to write you an estimate and fix your car, and nothing else. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your mobile number or your consent to be texted with anyone. No third party gets your number for their own marketing, ever.

What we collect

  • What you send us. Your name, phone number, email if you give one, your vehicle, what happened to it, and any photos you text or upload.
  • Your claim details, if you are going through insurance. The carrier and the claim number, when you give them to us.
  • The work itself. Estimates, invoices, photos of the repair, and the messages between us about your job.
  • Basic site analytics. Which pages get visited, from roughly where, on what kind of device. It is counted in aggregate and it is not tied to you.

Texting

If you tick the box asking us to text you, or you text us first, we will send you messages about your own vehicle: your estimate, your deposit, where your repair is up to, and one request for a review after you pick the car up.

  • Ticking the box is never required to get an estimate.
  • Message frequency varies with your job. Expect a handful of messages per repair, not a mailing list.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to stop them. Reply HELP for help.
  • Your mobile number and your consent are never shared with anyone else for their marketing.

We keep a record of the wording you agreed to and when, because that record is how we prove we only texted you about what you actually agreed to.

Why we keep it, and for how long

Repair records are not ours to delete on a whim. California requires a registered repair shop to keep the paperwork for a job, including the messages used to authorise work, for three years and to produce them to the Bureau of Automotive Repair on request. So anything attached to an actual repair stays for at least that long.

An enquiry that never became a job is a different matter. If you asked for an estimate and went elsewhere, ask us and we will delete it.

Who sees it

The shop. Your insurer and their adjuster, if you are running the repair through a claim. The companies that carry the plumbing, meaning our text messaging provider, our website host and our payment processor, each of which only handles the part it needs. Nobody else.

Your choices

  • Ask us what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
  • Ask us to correct something that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete an enquiry that never became a repair.
  • Stop the texts at any time by replying STOP. That stops all of them, not just one kind.

How to reach us about this

Call the shop on (909) 889-8551, or come by 446 W Orange Show Ln, San Bernardino, CA 92408. Ask for Vasken or Armen. A person will deal with it.

Changes

If this page changes we update the date at the top. We will not quietly start doing something with your information that this page says we do not do.
