What is Peel Clear?
Peel Clear is a waterborne, peelable automotive paint system made by Peelclear (Lancaster, PA). It's sprayed in a paint booth with the same HVLP guns and process as real paint, cures to a true gloss, satin or matte finish in any color, and when you want your factory color back it's scored at the edges and peeled off by hand in sheets — no adhesive ever touches your paint. Round 2 Refinish is a certified Peelclear installer, which is what makes the manufacturer's 20-year limited material warranty available on your car; the warranty section below says what it covers, excludes and requires.

The question we get most
Is Peel Clear the same as Plasti Dip or a “liquid wrap”?
No. The rubberized dip products people call liquid wrap are a different category — sprayed rubber, typically rated by their makers for a few years, that tears when it comes off. Peel Clear is a waterborne paint system applied with a standard HVLP gun and cured to a true paint finish that can be sanded and polished. It looks like paint because it is a paint finish.

Your factory code, matched
Any factory paint code can be mixed, so your color change can be another trim's color or another make's. Clear — gloss or matte — is sprayed over the paint you already have when you only want the protection.
Gloss, satin or matte
A cured paint finish, not a film texture. Gloss can be polished; satin and matte stay even from fender to fender because every panel gets the same mix.

From photos to pickup
Six steps. Two of them are why a Peel Clear job from a paint shop looks different from one out of a tent.
Photos and VIN
Text us all four corners, the VIN plate and the finish you want. Vasken writes a preliminary estimate from the photos. You sign electronically, a deposit locks in your materials, and the car is scheduled once they arrive.
Strip and prep
Any existing PPF or wrap comes off first and we inspect what's under it. Peel Clear goes over sound paint only — peeling clear or a bad respray is a prep conversation before anything gets mixed.
Doors and panels off for the jambs
We remove and reinstall doors and panels to reach the jambs and color-match them, not mask around them. Trunk jamb and gas door too.
Sprayed in the booth
HVLP guns, same process as paint, in our Platinum Finishing Systems downdraft booth — the booth our collision repaints go through.
Cure, unmask, add-ons
Once it's cured we unmask, check every edge and handle the rest of the estimate: ceramic over the finish, Peel Clear on carbon trim, a wing or aero install.
Pickup with the care sheet
We walk the car with you in daylight and go through the first-week and first-month rules. You'll have had photos and videos along the way, as with every job here.

Warranty, in plain terms
Round 2 Refinish is a certified Peelclear installer, so the manufacturer's warranty applies to work we spray. We warranty the installation and workmanship for 5 years. The Peelclear manufacturer's 20-year limited warranty covers the material itself — delamination, blistering, adhesion failure, product-related peeling, cracking, and yellowing caused by the product. It does not cover rock chips, scratches, impacts, accidents or vandalism, and it requires registration with Peelclear within 30 days and a check-in every three years. Care
Keep it dry for the first 7 days — no washing, no pressure washing, no automatic car washes. Hand-wash only for the first 30 days, no polishing. After that, pH-neutral hand washes and no automatic car washes. It's a real paint finish; treat it like fresh paint.

Will it damage my factory paint when it comes off?
No adhesive touches your paint. Over sound, properly prepared factory paint, Peel Clear is scored at the edges and peels away in large sheets without residue. If your paint is already failing — peeling clear, bad resprays — that's a prep conversation before we spray.
Can Peel Clear go over PPF or an old wrap?
Any existing film or wrap is removed first and the paint underneath is inspected. Peel Clear goes onto sound paint, not onto film.
How do I wash it?

If you want a color change that looks and feels like paint, reaches the door jambs, has no seams, and is backed by a longer warranty, Peel Clear.
