What this page is

Plain terms for using this website and for the estimates we write from photos. Nothing here replaces the paperwork you sign at the shop, and where the two differ, the paperwork wins.

An estimate from photos is a starting point, not a bill

When you send photos and we write you back with a number, that number is a preliminary estimate. It is based on what we can see in a photograph, which is genuinely useful for judging the work but cannot show what is behind a panel.

The estimate that actually governs your repair is the written one you get with the car in front of us, and no work begins until you authorise it. California requires that, and we would do it anyway. If we open the car up and find damage the photos could not show, we stop, document it, explain what changed, and ask you before going further. On an insurance job that goes to your carrier as a supplement. On a job you are paying for yourself, we tell you directly.

So: a preliminary estimate does not commit you to anything, and it does not commit us to a final price.

You choose the shop

If you are making a claim, California law says your insurer cannot require you to use a particular repair shop. Choosing us, or not choosing us, is your call.

Using this site

• The words, photographs and video here are ours. The photos are of real cars we worked on. Please do not republish them as your own work.
• The information here is offered in good faith and kept current, but a website cannot diagnose your car.
• Where we describe a material, a warranty or a legal requirement, we tell you where it comes from. If something here ever conflicts with a manufacturer's written warranty or with the law, that source governs, not this site.

Texting us

You can text the shop photos of your car without agreeing to anything. If you ask us to text you updates, we send messages about your own vehicle and one review request after pickup. Message frequency varies by job, message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to end them or HELP for help. Consent is never a condition of getting an estimate. Deposits and payment

Some jobs take a deposit before parts are ordered or materials are cut. If yours does, we tell you the amount in writing before you pay it, and what it covers.
